Oddities — drop of 2026-06-10
Every TBR drop hides a few weird stories. Names that lived only weeks before being released. Registrants who paid for years of registration and walked away. The patterns nobody else surfaces, pulled straight from CIRA's registry.
Data comes from snapshots we take of the CIRA RDAP server the moment a name appears on the TBR list, before any post-drop owner can overwrite the history. Jump to the current drop →
⚡Shortest-life domains
Names registered the shortest time before being released. Some are trademark enforcement (CIRA pulls infringing names quickly). Others are abandoned almost as soon as they were paid for.
💳Chargeback signatures
Registrants who paid for 2+ years of registration upfront but lost the name within a year of registering. The classic pattern: a multi-year prepay billed to a credit card, then a chargeback ~90 days later that reverses the transaction. CIRA pulls the name to TBR.
Nothing in this category for this drop.
🪦Surrendering the most paid time
Names where the registrant is walking away from the most paid-but-unused registration. Usually long-term holders abandoning a property mid-cycle, sometimes years before they'd have had to renew.
